Biography
Originally from the United Kingdom, Emma T Woodburn has been based in Ocean Shores, NSW, Australia on unceded Bundjalung country since 2011. After working for over 20 years in the performing arts and events industries Emma is now focusing on her career as a visual artist. In 2023 when Emma graduated from the Byron School of Art she was awarded the Northern Rivers Community Gallery Graduate Prize.
As an artist Emma’s multidisciplinary practice focuses on sculpture and assemblage supported by a foundation of in depth research, intuitive drawing, painting and photography. Emma is particularly interested in site-specific and site-responsive work that navigates historical, political and environmental issues while also focusing on the recurring themes of introspection and the personal human experience in our modern world.
