Falling into place

4-15 November 2022

Byron School of Arts, Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia

I want to push materials to their limits and play with the fabric of this material world.

All matter holds its own essence but objects also convey different and personal meanings for each of us individually.

I enjoy working with found objects and discovering how they speak to me. What stories do they hold? What histories do they whisper?

The works in this exhibition are a tribute to my Dad, our connection and our family’s story.

In January 2020 I saw my Dad for the last time.
In January 2021 he contracted Covid.
He never recovered.
In June 2022 he died.

He was an intelligent man and an extreme hoarder.
Boxes and broken things were important to him.

Love you Dad, Em x
